Review: Madewell Clean Leather Jacket

I don't typically consider Madewell very petite friendly since they do not carry designated petite sizes and even their XXS tops are frequently too large and too long for me. But today I wanted to talk about this Leather Jacket. The genuine leather is thick but flexible and soft. It has wonderful pebbling. What initially drew me to the jacket was how "clean" it looks. I'm not a big fan of leather jackets with too much hardware or a motorcycle collar. This jacket has the zipper in front and zippers on the lower half of the sleeves. If I could change one thing, I would make the zippers black instead of silver, allowing them to blend in more with the jacket and following along the lines of the "clean" theme.

The reviews on the Madewell site are correct that the jacket sleeves run short but I find this perfect for petite ladies! I typically wear XXS in Madewell but for this jacket I sized up to XS to allow for more room for sweaters and long sleeves.

Madewell also carries great denim with shorter inseams. I have the Skinny Skinny Sateen Jeans in True Black which I absolutely adore. They are so soft and fit more like a legging - think tight and slimming yet so comfortable!

If you live near a Madewell store, they offer free alterations on their jeans! It can either be done in store when purchasing them or bring the denim back later with the receipt if you want to prewash them in case they shrink. (I've had a pair of new jeans hemmed before, then put them through the laundry. They shrank so much that I had to re-sell them. So something to consider before getting your denim altered!)
