Swing Trench XXSP Length: 25 in. Armpit to armpit: 16.5 in. Shoulder to shoulder: 14.5 in. Sleeve length: 21.5 in.
I had high hopes for this trench. This was also the piece in my haul that I was most excited about. I've been looking for a beige colored trench for forever and unfortunately, I will have to keep looking. The jacket made me look frumpy and top heavy. I've come to the conclusion that an A-line silhouette is not good for women with larger busts like myself. However, the outer material and lining seemed to be good quality. I also liked the tortoise shell buttons, they go well with the color of the trench and are quite lovely in comparison to gold or silver buttons which can seem garish. I'd recommend this jacket to someone who likes the A-line silhouette and who has a smaller bust.
Ribbed Vee Pullover XXSP Length: 21 in. front, 23 in. back Armpit to armpit: 16 in. Shoulder to shoulder: 13.5 in. Sleeve length: 21 in.
This sweater had potential when I saw it online. It's a deep navy, which is a color I've only recently started wearing in the past year after I learned to pair navy with black. Unfortunately, the sweater curves out at the hips and this curve is too generous for my actual hips. The material sticks out farther and I think it makes me look larger than I am. I'm pointing to the problem area in the first picture. The material is also slightly itchy. I've learned I cannot stand itchy sweaters, so this one is a pass for me too. This year I'm trying to only buy and keep clothes that I'm absolutely in love with. Ones that I will actually wear and want to wear. I'm raising my standards. ;)
Quilted Panel Ponte Pants 00P Waist: 24.5 in. Inseam: 27 in. Rise: 8 in.
I've been looking for new work pants. These pants sit higher on the waist, hitting at the belly button. However, these were took tight in the booty - they looked like leggings - and would be completely inappropriate in the office. I'm passing on these too. I'm sad these didn't work out, especially because the quilted side panel was such a cute detail!
Dark Wash Denim Legging 00P Waist: 24 in. Inseam: 27.5 in. Rise: 8 in.
These are a dark wash jean with a legging fit which is my favorite fit. I love tight jeans! They feel like a second skin. And the dark wash is versatile. It's also wonderful that with petite sizing, I do not need to take these jeans out to get hemmed. The fabric has great stretch and is a softer, thinner denim. So if you're looking for thicker denim, I wouldn't recommend these.
Favorite long-sleeve V-neck tee XSP Length: 23.5 in. Armpit to armpit: 12.5 in. Shoulder to shoulder: 12.5 in. Sleeve length: 22 in.
I got two v-neck shirts in black and grey to replace my old ones that had gotten stained. Gap does not sell the same Bowery V-Neck shirts (which I loved!) that I ordered a few years ago. So I decided to try the Favorite line since it was on sale. The Favorite shirts are not as soft or as thick as the Bowery ones. But they are formfitting and will be fine for me as a casual long sleeve. I'd prefer better quality material but am at a loss of where to find a different shirt. I feel this is my best option at the moment. If anyone has other recommendations for petite basics like these shirts I would be happy to hear them!
Colorblock Chi Tank XXS Length: 26.5 in. front, 27.5 in. back Armpit to armpit: 14.5 in. Shoulder to shoulder: 8.5 in.
I decided to try Athleta for new workout clothes. Both of the tops I ordered from there were on sale. I liked how this one is form fitting. It's a longer length than I'd wear for a typical, non-workout shirt but I prefer the longer length for yoga class. I don't like my shirt riding up and exposing my belly when I stretch.
Speed Racer Tank XXS Length: 23.5 in. Armpit to armpit: 12 in. Shoulder to shoulder: 7.5 in.
The Speedracer Tank comes with a built-in bra with no padding, is formfitting, and a longer length. The stretchy fabric is nice and soft. The tank is also a racerback. I haven't bought new workout clothes in a long time and figured that I should, considering I work out six days a week but only have four sets of gym wear.
All in all, I kept 5 pieces. I'm still disappointed the trench didn't work out. Does anyone have a recommendation for a beige, form fitting trench for petites? If you do, I'd love to hear it in the comments below.
