14: Poison Oak

Poison oak is a type of poisonous plant commonly found in North America. Its leaves contain an oily resin called urushiol, which can cause an allergic reaction in humans. When a person comes into contact with poison oak, they may experience symptoms such as itching, redness, and blisters on the affected area. These symptoms may worsen if the person scratches or touches the affected area, as the urushiol can spread to other parts of the skin. Poison oak can be identified by its three leaflets, which may be green, red, or yellowish-green in color. It is important to avoid contact with poison oak and to wash the affected area thoroughly with soap and water if exposure occurs.
