Doodling on a Photo

I’ve been wanting to try Procreate on iPad for drawing for a while now so I found a beginner Procreate class on Skillshare (use this link for 2 free weeks of Premium; I get one free month per sign up) by Cat Coquillette. A really fantastic class. The way Cat breaks down the steps is easy to follow. The projects are varied and engaging; she shows different techniques and methods to using the app. The projects are easy enough for a complete beginner and they can be made more extensive by adding your own flourish to them. This is evident in a number of the student projects that there were many skill levels taking this class.

The first project was doodling on a photo which I haven’t done before but I’ve seen this type of artwork around the internet. The project photo with the cactus picture was really nice to begin with; I loved all the pinks in it.

I also learned how to use the video playback feature on Procreate. The videos are pretty cool and super easy since the app makes them for you! No need to do anything special aside from download the video.
