Tropical Leaf

The second project was learning to draw on Procreate using a reference photo of a tropical leaf. Basically the reference photo is used to help with the overall shape of the leaf to keep it realistic. Details can be added in at your pleasure.

I ended up trying this again with a rose. This made me think this method works better with objects with a distinct outline that communicates what the object is. This is like the leaf, while the rose “becomes” a rose more by the overlapping petals rather than purely the outline.
